Putin Arrives in India for Three-Day Visit, to Attend BRICS Summit and Meet Modi

Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in New Delhi on September 11 for a three-day visit to India.

During the visit, Putin will participate in the 18th BRICS Summit and hold a series of bilateral meetings, including talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The visit is considered significant for the Russia-India strategic partnership. Discussions between Putin and Modi are expected to cover bilateral relations, trade, energy, defence, technology, as well as international and regional issues.

At the BRICS Summit, Putin is also expected to present Russia’s views on a multipolar world order, economic cooperation, development finance, trade among member states and reform of international institutions.

Russia and India have maintained a long-standing strategic partnership, and the Putin-Modi meeting in New Delhi is expected to provide further momentum to bilateral cooperation amid a changing international environment.
