Nepal Army Chief Ashok Raj Sigdel Leaves for China, to Attend Beijing Xiangshan Forum

Chief of Army Staff General Ashok Raj Sigdel has left for China at the formal invitation of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army. Before his departure for Beijing, Lieutenant General Pradeep Jung K.C. saw him off at Tribhuvan International Airport.

Prior to the visit, a contingent of the Nepal Army presented a guard of honour to General Sigdel at Army Headquarters. During the visit, he is scheduled to participate in the 13th Beijing Xiangshan Forum.

The visit is expected to provide an opportunity to further strengthen military relations between Nepal and China. It is also expected to deepen mutual trust, institutional contacts and cooperation between the two armed forces, while contributing positively to Nepal’s broader foreign policy through military diplomacy.
