European Commission Declines Ukraine’s Request for €220 Million in Additional Farm Aid, Report Says

The European Commission has declined Ukraine’s request for an additional €220 million to support its farmers, Bloomberg reported, citing Agriculture and Food Policy Minister Vysotsky.

Ukraine had sought the agricultural support on top of the financial assistance the European Union already provides. The report did not give a detailed reason for the commission’s decision.

The reported decision concerns a request for additional farm aid. It does not mean the EU has ended its other financial support for Ukraine.
