Attacks on Kyiv Bridges Could Disrupt Ukraine’s Logistics: NYT

Dragon Media News Desk

Attacks targeting bridges in Kyiv could weaken their supporting structures, potentially forcing authorities to close them indefinitely and causing serious disruption to transport and military supply routes across Ukraine, The New York Times reported.

According to the newspaper, damage to the bridges’ supporting structures could require their closure. The resulting disruption would create a “logistical nightmare” for Kyiv and the country as a whole, it said.

Russia’s Defence Ministry said on Friday morning that Russian forces had struck a road and rail bridge over the Dnieper River in Kyiv. According to the ministry, Ukrainian military units in Donbas had relied on the bridge to receive supplies.

The ministry also said Russian forces had struck the Severny road bridge over the Dnieper in the Ukrainian capital the previous night. It said the Ukrainian armed forces used the route to move troops.
