Yunnan Coffee Hits Malaysian Market, Exported to 43 Countries Last Year

Coffee produced in China’s southwestern Yunnan Province is being sold in markets and cafés in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Malaysia is one of Yunnan’s major export destinations in Asia. According to Yunnan’s international trade association, the province exported coffee to 43 countries and regions in 2025. Europe and Asia are the leading destinations, with Vietnam and Malaysia among the main markets in Asia.
Yunnan lies on the northern edge of the global coffee-growing belt between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn. Long known for its tea, the province has developed a thriving coffee industry over the past two decades through steady investment, improved farming techniques and growing domestic demand.
