A Liberian-flagged oil tanker was attacked by unmanned surface vessels in the Black Sea, Russia’s Transport Ministry said.

The ministry identified the vessel as the Aframax tanker Rio. Its crew was rescued, and there were no casualties, the ministry said.

A fire broke out aboard the tanker after the attack. The ministry said firefighting would begin once the intensity of the fire had decreased. It added that the personnel and equipment available to manage the aftermath were sufficient.
