Dragon Media News Desk

Russian President Vladimir Putin is celebrating his 74th birthday today with his family while continuing official duties, including international phone calls and preparations for a CIS summit in Turkmenistan.

Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said congratulations from relatives are the most important to Putin. The president also has public events on his schedule, though details have not been disclosed.

Putin usually celebrates his birthday in Russia. He has spent it abroad only twice: in Chisinau in 2002 and in Bali in 2013.

Foreign leaders often send him symbolic gifts. In 2008, he received an Amur tiger cub. In 2017, former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi gave him an embroidered duvet cover. In 2022, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko presented him with a certificate for a tractor, while Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon brought watermelons that were later donated to children’s homes.
