Yemen’s Ansar Allah movement, also known as the Houthis, claimed it had fired 11 ballistic missiles at Saudi-led coalition troop concentrations south of the Bab al-Mandeb Strait. Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the group had targeted 11 concentrations of Saudi forces over the previous 24 hours in areas including Al-Suqia, Ras al-Arah and Al-Mudaraba.
Saree claimed the attacks killed or wounded dozens of people, including commanders, and destroyed numerous pieces of military equipment. The Houthi group also claimed that another ballistic missile struck a position of the 13th Al-Amaliqa Brigade, killing or wounding more than 30 fighters. These casualty claims have not been independently verified.
Meanwhile, Saudi-led coalition spokesperson Turki Al-Maliki said a ballistic missile launch platform used in the recent attack on Riyadh had been destroyed in Yemen’s capital, Sanaa. He said the platform was destroyed as preparations were under way for an imminent attack on Saudi Arabia.
