Nepal and U.S. Discuss Flood Response and Victim Identification Efforts

U.S. Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. Megan Bouldin and Home Minister Sudan Gurung discussed disaster response and ongoing efforts to identify American and Nepali victims of the August floods.
The U.S. Embassy said they also discussed bilateral cooperation on disaster management. More than $36 million in U.S. flood assistance is underway, according to the embassy.
U.S. equipment, technology and expertise are supporting Nepal’s first responders and helping communities recover, the embassy said.
