Bipartisan Senators Urge Trump to Reverse Russian Diesel Arrangement

Dragon Media Newsroom

Twelve senators from both parties have urged President Donald Trump to reverse his decision to allow Russian diesel onto the market and to withdraw a temporary waiver of energy sanctions on Russia. They argue that the arrangement with Russian President Vladimir Putin undermines U.S. security interests and Ukraine.

Trump said Russia would release 300,000 tons of diesel immediately, with additional supplies to follow. The senators say the move is unlikely to significantly reduce fuel prices for American consumers while increasing Russian revenue. Six Republicans joined the Democratic senators in signing the appeal.
