North Korea Tests Cluster Warhead for Tactical Ballistic Missile

Dragon Media News Desk

North Korea’s General Missile Bureau has tested the combat suitability and destructive power of a cluster warhead designed for a tactical ballistic missile, the Korean Central News Agency reported.

The bureau chief said cluster warheads are classified as special-purpose warheads, alongside four standard types. The bureau plans to enable military units this year to select and use any of these warheads according to operational objectives and the characteristics of the intended target.

The test confirmed that a Type 2 standard cluster warhead can destroy a target area measuring 12 to 13 hectares, the bureau said.
