Non-Resident Nepali Bill to be Presented in Upcoming Parliament Session

Kathmandu — The proposed bill concerning the Non-Resident Nepali (NRN) Act is being prepared for presentation in the upcoming session of Parliament. Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal provided this information during an interaction program organized between the NRNA and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday.
Foreign Minister Khanal pointed out the need to present the aspirations of the constitution more clearly from both conceptual and practical implementation perspectives. He also stated that the government is committed to making the act effective by encompassing the rights, role, and contributions of Non-Resident Nepalis.
During the program, NRNA President Hemraj Sharma, Founding President Upendra Mahato, Former President Badri KC, Ex-President Kul Acharya, Founding International Coordinator Bhim Udas, Vice Presidents Rojina Pradhan Rai and Buddha Suvedi, and Focal Person Saroj Dahal, among others, presented suggestions regarding the draft act. They emphasized the need to align the aspirations of Non-Resident Nepalis while maintaining harmony with the social, economic, and cultural rights enshrined in Nepal’s constitution.
Earlier, Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai mentioned that the ministry considers NRNA a trusted partner and expressed confidence that this cooperation will be further strengthened in the coming days.
