Air and Tap Water Samples in Tuapse Meet Safety Standards After Fires at Marine Terminal and Oil Refinery, Water Source 10 Kilometres Away Minimises Risk

Kathmandu — All air and tap water samples collected in the city of Tuapse in Russia’s Krasnodar region after fires at a marine terminal and an oil refinery were brought under control have been found to conform to hygiene standards, the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) has reported.
According to the agency, the water supply situation remains under constant monitoring. Rospotrebnadzor clarified that the water sources used to supply the city are located at a considerable distance — about 10 kilometres from the incident site — which minimises the direct impact of any possible contamination. The situation remains under the control of the relevant authorities.
