Fico to Visit Moscow, But Will Not Attend Victory Parade

Bratislava. Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has stated that he does not plan to attend the Victory Day parade in Moscow.

However, he confirmed that during his visit to Russia, he will lay flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier of the Red Army and hold a brief meeting with President Putin. According to Slovak newspaper SME, Fico said, “I will lay flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier of the Red Army to express gratitude on behalf of the Slovak people for the liberation, and I will have a short meeting with President Putin.”

Prime Minister Fico also noted that none of the European leaders questioned him about his trip to Russia during the European Political Community summit. He expressed confidence that everyone is aware he has “irrefutable reasons” for the visit.
