Russia Changes Driving Test Rules, to Take Effect from 2027

Moscow. The Russian government has amended the rules for conducting driving licence examinations. According to a government decree reviewed by TASS, some of the new provisions will come into force on March 1, 2027.

Under the new rules, the practical driving test must now be taken no later than 60 days after passing the theory exam. If a candidate fails to pass the practical test within six months, they will be required to retake the theoretical portion.

Government officials stated that this change aims to encourage candidates to complete the entire process in a timely manner. The move is reportedly intended to curb the tendency of candidates to delay taking the practical test for extended periods.
