President handover ceremony in Costa Rica: Chen Xiaodong departs as Xi’s special envoy

Beijing. As a special envoy of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Chen Xiaodong, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency, will attend the presidential handover ceremony in San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica.
According to a statement issued by the Chinese Foreign Ministry on Wednesday, Chen will attend the ceremony on May 7 and 8. He is leaving for Costa Rica at the invitation of the country.
Costa Rica is a country in Central America that established diplomatic relations with China in 2007. China has been strengthening its relations with Costa Rica through regular high-level visits and exchanges. Chen’s visit is expected to further deepen the friendship between the two countries.
