Delegates to the Ninth Congress of GFTUK Arrive in Pyongyang

Pyongyang. The participants in the Ninth Congress of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea arrived in the capital city of Pyongyang on May 8, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.

The congress will serve as a significant occasion in demonstrating the faith and will of the heroic working class to make greater innovations and achievements in the vanguard of the all-people general advance for carrying out the new Five-Year Plan for National Economic Development, and in setting a new milestone for the development of the GFTUK.

Ju Chang Il, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, along with other senior officials of the WPK Central Committee and officials of the Central Committee of the GFTUK, greeted the delegates who have played a vanguard and key role at their worksites.

Citizens in the streets of the city extended congratulations, waving their hands to the buses carrying the participants to the congress.
