He stated that over the past three decades, the definition of China-Russia relations has been continuously elevated, reaching a historic height as a comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era and setting an example of a new type of major-country relations.
Xi said that in recent years, the two countries have made important contributions to upholding international fairness and justice and promoting the building of a new type of international relations. Amid profound global changes unseen in a century, he described China-Russia relations as a major stabilizing factor.
President Xi stressed the need to consolidate high-quality political mutual trust and enhance strategic support for each other. He said the two sides should firmly support each other on issues concerning core interests and major concerns, while continuously strengthening strategic communication and exchanges at all levels.
Xi pointed out that China and Russia should vigorously advance high-quality, mutually beneficial cooperation and jointly promote their respective development and rejuvenation. He said the two countries should deepen alignment between China’s 15th Five-Year Plan from 2026 to 2030 and Russia’s development strategy through 2030, while strengthening and upgrading mutually beneficial cooperation across various fields.
President Xi also emphasized the need to promote high-quality people-to-people exchanges and further consolidate the foundation of enduring friendship between the two peoples for generations to come. Taking the China-Russia Year of Education initiative as an opportunity, he said the two sides should expand two-way student exchanges and deepen cooperation between universities and research institutions.
In addition, President Xi called on China and Russia to pursue high-quality international coordination and work together to reform and improve global governance. He said the two countries should oppose all forms of unilateral suppression and attempts to reverse the course of history, particularly provocative actions that seek to deny the outcomes of the Second World War and whitewash or revive fascism and militarism.
President Putin said Russia-China relations have reached an unprecedented height and that the two countries are continuously advancing bilateral cooperation in the spirit of mutual respect, equal and mutually beneficial cooperation, and mutual support. He made clear that cooperation between the two countries is not directed against any third party and will not be affected by geopolitical changes.
