Russia Imposes Sanctions on British Journalists, Experts in Response to Hostile Actions

Moscow – Russia has imposed personal sanctions on several members of Britain’s media and expert community, banning them from entering the Russian Federation, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the ministry accused British officials of maintaining an aggressive anti-Russian rhetoric, continuing insinuations about Russia, and supplying the Kiev regime with weapons and military equipment. It described these actions as evidence of London’s unwavering intention to pursue a hard-line systematic confrontation with Moscow.
“In response to these hostile actions, it has been decided to add several members of Britain’s media and expert community to Russia’s stop list,” the ministry said. It cited their involvement in circulating defamatory speculations and false information about Russian authorities’ policies and socio-political events in the country, as well as their calls to maintain and increase pressure on Moscow under the pretext of responding to the special military operation.
Additionally, the new additions to the stop list include the heads of British companies specializing in security matters and recruiting personnel for what Russia called the “neo-Nazi regime” under the pretext of implementing pseudo-humanitarian projects in Ukraine.
The following British nationals have been banned from entering the Russian Federation:
1. Alexander Browder – author of a report published by the Henry Jackson Society, which the ministry said contains disinformation;
2. Catherine Belton – a journalist for The Washington Post;
3. Alice Mary Laugher – Managing Director of CTG (Committed to Good), a subsidiary of the Chelsea Group;
4. Richard Nicholas Westbury – founder and chairman of the Chelsea Group;
5. Richard Holmes – a journalist for The i Paper.
The ministry once again urged London to abandon its aggressive anti-Russian course and its support for President Volodymyr Zelensky’s regime, warning that such a policy can only lead to new civilian casualties and the further destruction of the Ukrainian state.
“Let there be no doubt: any efforts by the British political elites to escalate Russophobia, intentionally damage the international standing of our country, and ratchet up anti-Russian sanctions will inevitably meet with resolute response measures,” the statement said.
The ministry added that the work to expand the Russian stop list in response to the British authorities’ unfriendly actions will be continued.
