Lavrov Meets UN Secretary-General Candidate Michelle Bachelet

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a meeting with Michelle Bachelet, a candidate for the post of United Nations Secretary-General, on June 8.

During the meeting, Bachelet presented her campaign platform, while Lavrov outlined Russia’s expectations and requirements for candidates seeking the UN’s top position.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to the United Nations’ central coordinating role in world affairs and emphasized the importance of the UN Charter as the foundation of international relations.
