A 26-year-old Venezuelan national, identified as Rony Yordrix Guanipa Crinos, has been detained after authorities found him with firearms in a vehicle near the White House. Officers from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Secret Service took him into custody on Thursday night, according to media reports.

Police said he was found asleep inside a stolen blue Ford F-150. During questioning, he used Google Translate to tell officers he had weapons, prompting a search of the vehicle. Authorities reported finding an AR-15-style rifle, a MAC-10 handgun, a Glock 43X pistol and a large quantity of ammunition.

According to police, he told investigators that voices he heard urged him to kill President Donald Trump. He also claimed that he had bought some of the weapons and taken others from people. Reports say he entered the United States illegally in 2024.

U.S. security agencies are continuing to investigate the case.
