10th China–South Asia Expo Opens in Kunming

The 10th China–South Asia Expo has opened in Kunming, the capital of China’s Yunnan Province.

The expo is being held at the Dianchi International Convention and Exhibition Center and will continue until next Tuesday. The exhibition venue, covering around 130,000 square meters, features stalls, products and innovative technologies from various countries and regions.

This year’s expo has brought together representatives, business leaders, investors and guests from 66 countries and regions. A total of 560 companies from eight South Asian countries are participating, along with more than 1,300 professional buyers from around the world.

According to the organizers, representatives from 36 countries, including Germany, Brazil and Egypt, are taking part in the expo for the first time. In addition, 112 Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders are also participating.

The exhibition gives special priority to products, technology, tourism, culture and trade opportunities from South Asian countries. Advanced technology, artificial intelligence, robotics and other innovations are also being showcased.

The China–South Asia Expo has established itself as an important platform for promoting trade, investment, infrastructure, technology and people-to-people exchanges between China and South Asian countries. Organizers expect this year’s expo to further expand economic cooperation between China and South Asia, a region with a combined population of around three billion people.

Hundreds of domestic and foreign guests, business representatives and investors attended the opening ceremony. On behalf of Nepal, National Assembly Vice Chairperson Leela Kumari Bhandari addressed the event. Some Nepali journalists are also participating in the program.

The expo is expected to give new momentum to regional markets, investment opportunities, technology transfer, cultural exchange and China–South Asia cooperation.
