Russian Ambassador Morgulov and Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Discuss Bilateral Cooperation

Russian Ambassador to China Igor Morgulov held another meeting on June 11 with Liu Bin, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China at the deputy-ministerial level.

According to the Russian Embassy in China, the two sides discussed the progress made in implementing the agreements reached by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping during their talks in Beijing on May 20.

They also exchanged views on the schedule of high-level bilateral contacts planned for the second half of this year, as well as key issues related to expanding cooperation between Russia and China in the political, trade, economic and humanitarian spheres.

During the meeting, Liu Bin conveyed a congratulatory message to Ambassador Morgulov on the occasion of the upcoming public holiday, Russia Day.

In his message, Liu noted that under the strategic leadership of President Putin and President Xi, Russia–China relations have entered a new stage of confident and accelerated development and are moving forward dynamically.

Liu also expressed readiness to continue active joint efforts to deepen the comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction between the two countries, as well as to strengthen the traditional friendship between the peoples of Russia and China.

The meeting is viewed as part of continued diplomatic coordination between Moscow and Beijing aimed at implementing high-level consensus, strengthening political dialogue, expanding practical cooperation and deepening people-to-people ties.
