Putin Presents National Awards on Russia Day

Russian President Vladimir Putin presented the gold medals of the Hero of Labour of the Russian Federation and the 2025 Russian Federation National Awards on the occasion of Russia Day.

The ceremony was held on June 12, 2026, at St George’s Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace in Moscow. Awards were presented to individuals recognized for outstanding achievements in science and technology, literature and the arts, human rights, and charitable work.

Addressing the ceremony, Putin congratulated the participants on Russia Day and said the holiday is celebrated with affection for the Motherland, pride in the achievements of past generations, and respect for key events in Russian history.

He said Russia’s state development over more than 1,000 years should be viewed as a single historical journey. According to him, a deep personal feeling for Russia is part of the national mentality, while solidarity and patriotism have long helped the Russian people overcome difficulties, defend the country, build the state, and preserve historical and cultural heritage.

Putin also said that a sincere sense of responsibility for the Fatherland is familiar to every citizen. He linked that feeling to participants in Russia’s special military operation, saying it serves as a spiritual support for them, alongside support from Russian society.

The president praised the award recipients for their courage, perseverance, dedication and professional commitment. He said their achievements were reached by extraordinary, strong and generous people for whom work and vocation had become an essential part of life.

At the end of the ceremony, Putin placed special emphasis on young people and future generations. He said society and the state must help young people find their calling, discover work they truly enjoy, and achieve success in their chosen fields.

Referring to remarks made by award recipients, Putin said every person should have a dream and work to turn it into reality.

The Russia Day ceremony highlighted national service, patriotism, social responsibility, professional excellence and inspiration for future generations.
