Russia Day Celebrated in Pakistan with Grand Reception

The Embassy of Russia in Pakistan hosted a grand reception on June 10 to mark the National Day of the Russian Federation.

President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari attended the Russia Day event as the Chief Guest. The reception was also attended by federal ministers, prominent parliamentarians, ambassadors from friendly countries, and other distinguished guests, according to the organizers.

The theme of the event was the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, proclaimed by Russian President Vladimir Putin. As part of the celebration, embassy staff presented a fashion show featuring traditional Russian dresses. The Cossack Ensemble “Stavropolye” also performed dances and musical pieces during the event.

A photo exhibition showcasing the beauty of various regions of Russia was also displayed at the venue. The exhibition highlighted Russia’s natural landscapes, cultural diversity, multinational identity, and rich heritage.

Addressing the reception, Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Albert P. Khorev emphasized that Russia is defending its national interests and advocating for the establishment of a just multipolar world order. He said this position resonates with Pakistan, noting that relations between Russia and Pakistan are on the rise across various areas.

According to the Russian Embassy, the event reflected the friendly ties, cultural exchange, and growing cooperation between Russia and Pakistan.
