China and Pakistan Pledge Coordination for Middle East Peace

Kathmandu. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has said China is ready to work with Pakistan to continuously promote peace and advance dialogue for the early restoration of peace, stability and development in the Middle East.
Wang made the remarks on Tuesday during a phone conversation with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar.
According to the Chinese side, the two foreign ministers exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East and discussed the need for continued diplomatic coordination. Wang said China and Pakistan should keep making efforts to support dialogue and reduce tensions in the region.
He stressed that peace and stability in the Middle East are important not only for the countries of the region but also for the wider international community. Wang said China supports political and diplomatic solutions to regional disputes and opposes actions that may further escalate tensions.
The Chinese foreign minister said Beijing values Pakistan’s role and is willing to maintain close communication with Islamabad on regional and international issues. He added that China and Pakistan, as all-weather strategic cooperative partners, have a shared interest in promoting peace, stability and development.
The phone conversation reflected continued coordination between China and Pakistan on major regional issues. Both sides are expected to maintain communication as diplomatic efforts continue to seek an early restoration of peace and stability in the Middle East.
