Two Indian Tourists Rescued After Boat Capsizes in Phewa Lake

Pokhara — Armed Police Force personnel safely rescued two Indian tourists after their boat capsized in Phewa Lake, Pokhara.
The incident occurred on Tuesday evening when strong winds and waves caused two surface boats to overturn in the lake. The tourists, identified as 40-year-old Dhiraj Korwal and 35-year-old Bikash Korwal, had come to Pokhara while visiting Nepal.
After receiving information about the incident, an Armed Police Force rescue team stationed at the Phewa Watch and Rescue Tower was immediately mobilized. A 10-member disaster management team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Raju Thapa rescued both tourists and brought them safely to the shore.
The rescue team deployed in the Phewa Lake area under APF No. 24 Kalika Battalion, Kaski, has been providing emergency rescue and assistance services in the lake area.
No casualties were reported. Security personnel have urged visitors to exercise caution while boating in Phewa Lake, especially during sudden changes in weather.
