Third “Sedru Bumpa” Grassland Football Invitational Tournament Begins in Lhoka
Nepal among participating teams in 15-day competition
Kathmandu — The third “Sedru Bumpa” Grassland Football Invitational Tournament has begun in Lhoka City of the Tibet Autonomous Region of China. The tournament, which started on June 20, features teams from Nepal as well as various Chinese provinces, cities, universities, and regions across Tibet.
According to the organizers, the tournament will run for the next 15 days. Teams from partner provinces and cities such as Hunan, Hubei, and Anhui are taking part, along with representative teams from seven prefectures and cities across the Tibet Autonomous Region, teams from higher education institutions, and teams from Yunnan, Ningxia, and Yushu in Qinghai.
A total of 18 teams, as well as Nepal’s national representative team, will compete in the tournament. Nepal’s participation has added significance to the event from the perspective of regional sports exchange and the expansion of friendly relations.
The “Sedru Bumpa” Grassland Football Invitational Tournament, held in Lhoka, aims to promote local sports development, youth participation, cultural exchange, and regional friendship. As the tournament reaches its third edition, the scope of participating teams has become broader.
The participation of teams from provinces and cities that maintain cooperative ties with Tibet reflects the use of sports as a medium for regional coordination and people-to-people exchanges. The teams will compete in different stages over the next 15 days.
