Russia Accuses Ukrainian Forces of Attacks on Civilian Areas

Moscow — Rodion Miroshnik, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has accused Ukrainian armed forces of carrying out attacks on civilian areas, vehicles, and residential structures during the week of June 15 to 21, 2026.

According to details released by Miroshnik, various Russian and Russian-controlled areas were targeted by drones and unmanned aerial vehicles during the period.

He said that on June 16, a fixed-wing UAV struck a private residence in the Kirovsky District of Donetsk in the Donetsk People’s Republic.

On June 17, an FPV drone hit a civilian truck in the Belgorod Region, killing one civilian, according to the Russian side. On the same day, a kamikaze drone struck a passenger bus in the Bryansk Region, killing one woman and injuring eight people, including six children.

Similarly, on June 18, one civilian was injured in an FPV drone attack in Bekhtery, Kherson Region, while a UAV struck a civilian truck in Velikiye Kopani, also in the Kherson Region. Russia also claimed that a fixed-wing UAV hit a residential apartment building in the Moscow Region on the same day.

According to Miroshnik, on June 19, attacks were carried out against a civilian truck in Lyubimovka in the Kherson Region, a civilian car in Oktyabrsky in the Belgorod Region, and a passenger minibus in Shebekino, also in the Belgorod Region.

He further said that on June 21, an FPV drone struck a civilian car in Russkaya Berezovka in the Belgorod Region.

Russia has presented these incidents as evidence of attacks by Ukrainian forces on civilian infrastructure and ordinary people. Moscow has repeatedly accused Kyiv of increasing drone attacks on border areas and regions including Donetsk, Belgorod, Bryansk, and Kherson in recent months.

Ukraine has generally dismissed such Russian accusations as part of wartime propaganda. Amid the ongoing conflict, both sides have repeatedly accused each other of targeting civilian areas.
