Russian Diplomat Presents Top Award at Nepal Olympic Committee Ceremony

KATHMANDU — Minister-Counsellor of the Russian Embassy in Nepal, Rinchen Rakshaev, was honoured to present the Nepal Olympic Committee’s award to the Nepal Karate Federation, which was recognised as the country’s best sports federation at the fourth NOC Awards Ceremony held on Tuesday in Kathmandu.
The ceremony was organised to mark Olympic Day, celebrated worldwide on 23 June. The Nepal Olympic Committee annually hosts the awards on this occasion, recognising the outstanding achievements of athletes, sports federations and journalists who have contributed to the development of Nepali sports.
The recognition of the Nepal Karate Federation as the nation’s top sporting body underscores the growing prominence of karate in Nepal’s sports landscape. The presence of a senior Russian diplomat to present this prestigious award highlights the warm and friendly ties between Russia and Nepal, including in the field of sports cooperation.
