Putin Sends Independence Day Greetings to Belarusian President

Moscow — Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent greetings to Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on the occasion of Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus.

In his message sent on July 3, President Putin said the holiday carries special significance not only for the Belarusian people but also for Russians, as it is rooted in a glorious chapter of their shared history, the liberation of Minsk from Nazi invaders.

Putin said the bonds of fraternal friendship and mutual support forged during the difficult years of war continue to serve as a strong foundation for strengthening allied relations between Russia and Belarus.

He noted that Moscow and Minsk are cooperating productively across all areas and coordinating their efforts in addressing external threats and challenges.

President Putin expressed confidence that by further expanding their multifaceted partnership and strengthening the institutions of the Union State, Russia and Belarus would overcome all challenges with honour, protect their legitimate interests on the international stage and ensure a decent future for their peoples.

Concluding his message, President Putin wished President Lukashenko good health and every success and conveyed his wishes for well-being and prosperity to the people of Belarus.
