Brothers Beat Nawalpur Dang on Penalties, Set Up Final Against Magar Unity

Brothers FC of Khajura, Banke, secured a place in the final after defeating Nawalpur Dang 3–2 in a penalty shootout following a closely contested match.

The game ended 1–1 in regulation time. Nawalpur Dang had taken the lead, but Bharat Gharti Magar scored a crucial equaliser for Brothers to send the match into a penalty shootout.

Bharat, Suraj and Mohit successfully converted their penalties for Brothers. Nawalpur Dang managed to score only twice, allowing Brothers to seal a 3–2 shootout victory and advance to the title match.

Bharat emerged as one of the key figures in the victory, rescuing his team with the equaliser in regulation time before converting his penalty in the shootout.

Brothers FC will now face Rukum-based Magar Unity in Friday’s final.

Brothers FC President Bibek Sagar Poudel and Treasurer Rakesh Poudel expressed their delight with the team’s performance and praised the players for competing with honesty, discipline and respect for the spirit of the game.

“Our players are playing sincerely and maintaining the dignity of the sport. For many of our players from the Tarai, this is their first experience of playing in the hill region, and they are enjoying the excitement of the competition,” they said.

“We are confident that Brothers will win the final. However, we will also be happy if Magar Unity emerges victorious because it is a club formed by local youths who have worked very hard.”

They added that Brothers FC was considering providing deserving players from Magar Unity with opportunities to participate in other football competitions in the future.g
