13-Year-Old Dies After Allegedly Stolen Vehicle Crashes North of Sydney

A 13-year-old boy has died and three others have been hospitalized under police guard after an allegedly stolen vehicle crashed about 110 kilometers north of Sydney early Monday.
According to police, the vehicle left the road and crashed into a field at around 3:00 am local time.
Emergency personnel treated the 13-year-old at the scene but were unable to revive him. He was pronounced dead at the site.
A 14-year-old boy was arrested at the scene and taken to hospital for treatment of leg injuries.
Two other people believed to have been traveling in the vehicle left the area before police arrived. Following inquiries, officers arrested an 18-year-old and another 14-year-old, both of whom were taken to hospital under police guard.
Police said the vehicle was allegedly stolen from a nearby town late Sunday night or early Monday morning.
A crime scene has been established and an investigation is underway. Police have asked anyone with information about the incident to contact investigators.
