Mass Drone Attack on Belgorod Leaves 13 Injured, Including Two Children

At least 13 people, including two children, were injured in a large scale drone attack on Russia’s border region of Belgorod, according to regional authorities. Residential buildings, administrative facilities and other properties were also damaged.
Acting Belgorod Region Governor Alexander Shuvaev said drones launched by the Ukrainian side struck several locations in Belgorod city.
Russian defense authorities said air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 153 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles over different Russian regions overnight, including some over Belgorod Region. The figure was not independently verified.
Regional authorities said 13 people were injured in the attack. Some received medical assistance at the scene, while others were transported to hospitals for treatment.
Preliminary information indicated that more than four apartment buildings, an administrative building, a social services facility and a commercial property were damaged. Several vehicles and a private house also caught fire following drone explosions, officials said.
Belgorod Mayor Valentin Demidov visited the affected areas, while local administration staff began documenting the damage and assisting residents.
The regional prosecutor’s office is also overseeing measures to ensure the rights of people affected by the attack, according to TASS.
