Two civilians were killed and seven others injured in Ukrainian drone attacks on the Donetsk region, according to regional head Denis Pushilin.

Citing Pushilin, Russian news agency TASS reported that he said in a post on the Max messaging platform that two people had been killed and seven other residents injured in drone attacks during the day.

According to Pushilin, one person was killed when a drone struck a railway locomotive on the Volnovakha–Karan section.

A second fatality was reported after a drone attacked a car on the Novorossia highway near the village of Myshevatoye.

Pushilin said three residential buildings and four civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged in the attacks. A commuter bus, six trucks, two passenger cars and vehicles used by municipal services were also reported damaged.

Damage was recorded in Mariupol, Gorlovka, Dokuchayevsk and Khartsyzsk, as well as in the Volnovakha, Velikonovoselkovsky, Mangushsky and Shakhtersky municipalities, according to the regional authorities.

Russia considers the Donetsk region, which it refers to as the Donetsk People’s Republic, part of the Russian Federation following its declared annexation. Ukraine and most of the international community do not recognize that claim.

There was no immediate response from the Ukrainian side to Pushilin’s account of the casualties and damage. The reported details could not be independently verified.
