Israel continues to cooperate with the Board of Peace on the ground in the Gaza Strip despite formally rejecting the organization’s 15-point plan for the enclave.

Citing The New York Times, Russian news agency TASS reported that Israeli officials remain in contact and coordination with the Board of Peace on a range of issues related to Gaza.

According to a Board of Peace official quoted by the newspaper, Israeli representatives are continuing practical cooperation with the organization despite Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s public opposition to the plan.

The cooperation reportedly includes efforts aimed at reducing the intensity of Israeli strikes in the Gaza Strip.

Netanyahu had earlier said that Israel would not accept the Board of Peace’s 15-point proposal for Gaza. He also stated that Israeli forces would not withdraw from the Palestinian enclave until Hamas had been fully disarmed.

The proposal includes the disarmament of Hamas, the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and the establishment of a new administrative framework for the territory. However, disagreements remain over the sequence in which disarmament and military withdrawal should take place.

Netanyahu has maintained that Israel will not compromise on its security requirements and has presented the full disarmament of Hamas as a precondition for the withdrawal of Israeli forces.

At the same time, continued coordination between Israeli officials and the Board of Peace on the ground suggests that practical engagement over Gaza has not been completely disrupted despite public political disagreements.

Negotiations and differences remain over Gaza’s long-term security arrangements, the disarmament of Hamas, the withdrawal of Israeli forces and the territory’s post-conflict administrative structure.
