Putin and Min Aung Hlaing to Hold Talks in Moscow on August 18

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Myanmar President Min Aung Hlaing are scheduled to hold talks at the Kremlin on August 18 during Min Aung Hlaing’s official visit to Russia.

The discussions are expected to focus on ways to further deepen Russia-Myanmar cooperation across a range of sectors and on practical measures to strengthen bilateral relations.

The two leaders will also exchange views on current international and regional issues.

Several bilateral documents are expected to be signed during the visit, providing an additional institutional basis for expanding cooperation between the two countries.

Russia and Myanmar have in recent years expanded high-level political engagement alongside cooperation in economic, energy, defence and technological fields.

The upcoming summit is expected to provide an opportunity to further strengthen ties between Moscow and Naypyidaw while allowing both sides to coordinate their positions on regional and international developments.
