Ukrainian Counterattacks Near Olkhovatka Weak as Russian Forces Advance: Marochko

Ukrainian counterattacks near Olkhovatka in the Kharkov Region have been weak, with Ukrainian forces concentrating mainly on defensive operations, Russian military expert Andrey Marochko said.

Speaking to TASS, Marochko said Ukrainian counterattacks in the area had shown limited intensity.

“Enemy counterattacks near Olkhovatka have been weak. The enemy is mostly focused on defensive action,” he said.

According to Marochko, Russian forces are conducting offensive operations along a front stretching approximately 10 kilometres near Olkhovatka.

He had earlier said that Russian troops were advancing in the area while clearing positions held by Ukrainian forces and seeking to expand control over the surrounding territory.

Marochko’s assessment of the latest battlefield situation near Olkhovatka has not been independently verified. Claims from both sides regarding developments in active combat zones are often difficult to confirm immediately.
