Syrian Air Passenger Flight Arrives in Damascus from Moscow After 18-Month Hiatus

Syrian Air has operated its first passenger flight from Moscow to Damascus in a year and a half.

A solemn ceremony was held at Damascus International Airport on August 16 to mark the arrival of the Syrian Air passenger aircraft from the Russian capital.

The event was attended by staff of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Syria, as well as representatives of the General Authority of Civil Aviation of the Syrian Arab Republic.

The resumption of the Moscow-Damascus passenger air connection after an 18-month hiatus is being seen as a sign of renewed civil aviation and travel links between Russia and Syria.
