JSP-Nepal Withdraws Support from Lumbini Government

The Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal (JSP-Nepal) has withdrawn its support from the Lumbini provincial government led by Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya.

Party General Secretary Dr. Surendra Kumar Jha announced the decision through a statement, saying the party had formally withdrawn its support from the provincial government.

In line with the party’s decision, JSP-Nepal has also instructed its provincial assembly members to vote against the confidence motion to be presented by Chief Minister Acharya.

The decision comes as Acharya prepares to seek a vote of confidence in the Lumbini Provincial Assembly.

The Nepali Congress had already withdrawn its support from the government, and JSP-Nepal’s latest move has added further pressure to the ruling coalition ahead of the confidence vote.

The Lumbini Provincial Assembly has 83 members, meaning the Chief Minister requires the support of at least 42 lawmakers to secure a majority.
