Russian Air Defenses Down 23 Drones Approaching Moscow

Russian air defense forces destroyed another 10 drones approaching Moscow on Tuesday, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said.

With the latest interceptions, a total of 23 unmanned aerial vehicles have been downed while approaching the Russian capital since the start of the day, according to calculations based on Sobyanin’s statements.

Sobyanin said the attack by 10 UAVs flying toward Moscow had been repelled by air defense systems.

Emergency service specialists were deployed to the sites where drone debris fell, he added.

No immediate detailed information was released regarding possible damage or casualties caused by the falling debris.

Russian air defense units have remained on heightened alert amid repeated attempts to target Moscow and surrounding areas with unmanned aerial vehicles.
