Government Transfers and Reassigns 27 Joint Secretaries, Major Changes at CIAA and Provincial Offices

The government has transferred and reassigned 27 gazetted first-class officers, including joint secretaries and officials of equivalent rank, across federal ministries, constitutional bodies, provincial governments and local levels.

The decision was taken by the Council of Ministers at its meeting on Bhadra 3 and was made public on Monday by the Ministry of Federal Affairs.

The latest reshuffle includes significant changes at the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority, the Ministry of Finance, the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, and several provincial government offices.

Bed Prasad Bhandari, who had been serving at the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority, has been transferred to the Ministry of Finance. Ram Bahadur Kurumbang, also serving at the Commission, has been assigned to the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers of Karnali Province.

Padma Kumar Mainali, another official serving at the anti-graft commission, has been transferred to a ministry related to infrastructure development, while Narayan Regmi has been moved to the National Planning Commission.

Sunita Nepal, who had been serving at the Investment Board, has been transferred to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority. Govinda Prasad Adhikari from the health sector and Ram Hari Pokharel from the infrastructure sector have also been posted to the Commission.

Along with Bed Prasad Bhandari, Rajendra Dev Pandey, who had been serving in the additional group under the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, has also been transferred to the Ministry of Finance.

The reshuffle also involves substantial movement of senior officials between the federal and provincial levels. Several joint secretaries serving as provincial ministry secretaries have been recalled to federal ministries, while some officials currently serving at the federal level have been assigned to provincial governments.

Rajan Paudel, who had been working at the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been appointed Chief Administrative Officer of Pokhara Metropolitan City.

The government has said the latest transfers and postings were carried out as part of administrative management and staffing requirements across federal ministries, constitutional bodies, provincial governments and local levels.

The changes will formally take effect as the reassigned officials report to their respective new offices.
