Krasnodar Drone Attack Death Toll at Three Teenagers, 12 Injured

The number of people injured in an overnight Ukrainian drone attack on Russia’s southern Krasnodar Region has risen to 12, while three teenagers aged 13, 15 and 16 were killed after drone debris struck a private children’s facility, according to Russian authorities.

The regional emergency response headquarters said 10 of the injured, including six children, had been hospitalized. Russian health officials said the six children were in moderate condition, while two adults were in serious condition. Two women were also hospitalized with shrapnel wounds, while two other residents received outpatient treatment.

Krasnodar Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said debris from drones intercepted during air defense operations fell on the private children’s facility. Residential buildings and apartment blocks under construction were also damaged. Authorities said residents of a badly affected five-storey building would be temporarily accommodated in a hotel and assisted with repairs to their homes.

Russia’s Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights, Maria Lvova-Belova, confirmed that the three fatalities were teenagers. Local authorities said assistance would be provided to the victims’ families.

A warehouse operated by Russian e-commerce company Ozon in Krasnodar was also affected during the attack. The company evacuated the facility, and preliminary reports indicated that no one was injured there.

The attack also caused significant disruption to air traffic. A total of 110 flights were delayed at Sochi International Airport, including 60 departures and 50 arrivals. Twenty-one departing flights were delayed by more than 10 hours, according to airport information.

Russian regional officials blamed Ukraine for the attack, with Kondratyev accusing Kyiv of once again striking civilian facilities and endangering children. However, it has not been independently established whether the children’s facility itself was deliberately targeted or whether debris from a drone aimed at another target fell on the site.

Emergency and investigative teams remain deployed at affected locations, while the regional prosecutor’s office has opened a hotline to assist residents impacted by the attack.

The latest figures update earlier reports that three people had been killed and eight injured. The growing casualty toll, damage to civilian infrastructure and disruption to regional air traffic underline the increasing human and logistical impact of long-range drone attacks inside Russia.
