11th Eastern Economic Forum Opens in Vladivostok with Participation from 80 Countries

The 11th Eastern Economic Forum has opened in Vladivostok, bringing together government officials, business leaders, investors and experts from around 80 countries to discuss the development of Russia’s Far East and wider economic cooperation across the Asia-Pacific region.
The four-day forum, being held from September 1 to 4 on the campus of Far Eastern Federal University, has emerged as one of Russia’s major international platforms for investment, trade, infrastructure and economic cooperation with Asian and Pacific partners.
This year’s central theme is “The Far East: Development for the Benefit of People,” reflecting Russia’s emphasis on combining economic expansion with improvements in living standards, infrastructure and opportunities across its vast Far Eastern territories.
The business programme includes more than 70 sessions covering five major thematic tracks: Living and Working in the Far East; The Far East – A Pole of International Cooperation; Technologies of the Present and the Future; Mechanisms for Attracting Private Investment; and Logistics and Infrastructure for Economic Growth.
The programme includes a plenary session, thematic discussions, business dialogues, roundtables and expert meetings. Discussions are expected to focus on international economic cooperation, investment, technological development, artificial intelligence, infrastructure, logistics, transport corridors and measures aimed at improving the quality of life in the Russian Far East.
Representatives from 80 countries have confirmed their participation, highlighting the forum’s growing role as a meeting point between Russia and economies across Asia, the Middle East and other regions.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a message to participants, organizers and guests of the forum, described the Eastern Economic Forum as an established platform for open and constructive dialogue among business representatives, government authorities and experts.
Putin said the forum had become an important venue for discussing strategic priorities for the development of the Russian Far East and Russia as a whole, while also strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation with partners in the Asia-Pacific region.
He particularly highlighted cooperation in logistics, industry, energy and other sectors of the economy.
The forum also provides participants with opportunities to engage directly with investors, government regulators and potential business partners, while exploring new markets and investment opportunities in Russia’s Far East.
The Eastern Economic Forum was established as part of Russia’s broader strategy to accelerate the economic development of its Far Eastern territories and strengthen the country’s integration with the rapidly growing economies of the Asia-Pacific region.
Over the years, the forum has increasingly focused on expanding transport connectivity, energy cooperation, industrial development, technology partnerships and investment flows between Russia and Asian economies.
Against the backdrop of changing global trade patterns and increasing economic engagement across Eurasia and the Asia-Pacific, EEF 2026 is expected to place particular emphasis on new investment mechanisms, logistics corridors and technological cooperation.
The forum is organized by the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Russian government.
