Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina has won her first US Open women’s singles title after defeating Belarusian star Aryna Sabalenka in a hard-fought three-set final in New York.

Rybakina secured the championship with a 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 victory. She took the opening set before Sabalenka mounted a strong comeback to claim the second and force a deciding set.

In the third set, however, Rybakina regained firm control of the match. Her powerful serve, aggressive baseline play and composure under pressure allowed her to dominate the decisive stage and close out the final 6-2.

The victory marks Rybakina’s first US Open championship. She completed an unbeaten run through the tournament, winning all seven of her matches. In the semifinal, she defeated American star Coco Gauff to secure her place in the final.

The triumph further strengthens Rybakina’s position among the leading players in women’s tennis. By adding the US Open crown to her achievements, she has expanded her Grand Slam success and reinforced her status as one of the sport’s most formidable competitors.

Sabalenka showed resilience by recovering in the second set, but she was unable to withstand Rybakina’s sustained pressure in the deciding set. Rybakina quickly established momentum and maintained her advantage to seal the historic title.

The victory is also a major sporting achievement for Kazakhstan. Rybakina’s success at one of tennis’s most prestigious tournaments further enhances the country’s growing international profile in the sport.
