Two Earthquakes Strike Mugu in Quick Succession, Both Centered Around Kalai

Two earthquakes struck Mugu district within a few hours early Wednesday, with both epicentres located around the Kalai area. According to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre, the first earthquake occurred at 1:51 a.m. and measured 4.5 magnitude.

Around two and a half hours later, at 4:28 a.m., a second earthquake measuring 4.2 magnitude struck with its epicentre again around Kalai. Although the two tremors were felt in quick succession, no immediate reports of casualties or physical damage have been made public.

Earlier, on Bhadra 26, a 4.1-magnitude earthquake had struck near Kalseni in Jajarkot district at 9:08 a.m.
