Prime Minister Shah Holds Talks with Main Opposition Nepali Congress Ahead of UN General Assembly Visit

Prime Minister Balendra Shah held discussions with leaders of the main opposition Nepali Congress at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar on Monday, ahead of his departure for the United States to attend the United Nations General Assembly.

The prime minister had invited representatives of the main opposition for consultations before participating in the UN General Assembly. Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party leader Bhishma Raj Angdembe and party leader Bishwa Prakash Sharma attended the meeting.

The discussions were held as part of consultations ahead of Nepal’s participation in the UN General Assembly, where the prime minister is scheduled to represent the country.

Prime Minister Shah is scheduled to leave for the United States on Tuesday afternoon to participate in the General Assembly. During the visit, he is expected to address the UN forum and present Nepal’s positions on relevant international issues.
