China and Indonesia Emphasize Deeper Strategic Cooperation During Wang Huning–Ahmad Muzani Meeting

Wang Huning, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met with Ahmad Muzani, speaker of Indonesia’s People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR), in Beijing on Monday, September 21. Their discussions focused on strengthening strategic cooperation, exchanging governance experience and advancing bilateral relations.

Wang said the cordial meeting between the Chinese and Indonesian heads of state last year had provided new strategic guidance for building a China–Indonesia community with a shared future. He reaffirmed China’s willingness to work with Indonesia to implement the important understandings reached by the two leaders and deepen cooperation across multiple sectors.

Wang emphasized the importance of exchanging experience in state governance and strengthening institutional engagement to support modernization in both countries. He said the CPPCC National Committee was prepared to expand communication, exchanges and mutual learning with Indonesia’s MPR, contributing to the continued development of bilateral relations.

Muzani praised China’s achievements in economic and social development, describing its development experience as a model from which Indonesia could learn. He reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to the one-China policy and expressed his country’s willingness to expand practical cooperation with China in various fields for the benefit of both peoples.

The Indonesian speaker also expressed support for closer exchanges between the MPR and the CPPCC National Committee, saying stronger institutional cooperation could contribute to deeper bilateral relations.

The meeting reflected the two sides’ shared intention to translate high-level understandings into sustained institutional engagement and practical cooperation as China and Indonesia continue developing their bilateral partnership.
