SpaceX Dragon Carrying Four Astronauts Docks with ISS

Dragon Media News Desk

A SpaceX Dragon spacecraft carrying four astronauts for NASA’s Crew-13 mission has docked with the International Space Station after a journey of nearly eight hours.

The spacecraft launched aboard a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida on October 1. It then docked autonomously with the orbiting laboratory. NASA said the journey from launch to docking was the fastest by a U.S. spacecraft to the station.

The crew comprises NASA astronauts Jessica Watkins and Luke Delaney, Canadian Space Agency astronaut Joshua Kutryk, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Sergey Teteryatnikov. Crew-13 is the 13th NASA crew-rotation mission to the ISS using a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft.

The astronauts will spend an extended period aboard the station conducting scientific research and technology demonstrations. NASA says the work will support future human missions to the Moon and Mars, as well as research with potential benefits for people on Earth.
