Brussels Meeting on Ukraine Ends Without Results, TASS Reports

A meeting in Brussels of technical delegations discussing a possible settlement of the Ukraine conflict ended without practical results, TASS reported, citing a diplomatic source in the city.

Representatives of the European Commission, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, the United States, Ukraine and the World Bank took part in the meeting.

In its final statement, the European Commission said participants had discussed Ukraine’s postwar reconstruction and development. The statement said the European Union had provided Ukraine with 231.5 billion euros since the conflict began.

The statement did not explain how Ukraine could move from an ongoing conflict to reconstruction, TASS reported. The news agency assessed that the meeting may have focused on securing additional financial support for the Ukrainian government in 2027. The European Commission’s statement did not confirm that assessment.
